Society members George & Petronella Britton celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in May 2009 with a fund raising Ceilidh. The evening was celebrated in good style in the company of family, friends and neighbours with Scottish dancing including ‘Golden Anniversary and ‘Petronella’. Members will recall that with the help of MAGPAS George survived a burst abdominal aortic aneurysm in October 2008 and as a way of saying thank you a grand total of £1000 was raised and donated to MAGPAS. It is with much sadness that we report the passing of the Society’s Oldest member, Mrs Eunice Cooke. Eunice had recently celebrated her 100th Birthday and delighted to have received a special card from The Queen. Condolences go to Pat and Jim Crowe.
Vera Buckman, who has been a Society member for over than 40 years recently  celebrated her 90th birthday. Members of the Reel Club marked the occasion by presenting Vera with a special card, a birthday cake and bouquet of flowers. Click here for photo gallery
